Self-Love - Sanctuary Sunday

Welcome back! In this month that celebrates love, I want to encourage you to make some room for self-care and self-love.

What is love? How do we express our love to others?

Through action. Love is a verb.

We can love someone, but if we don’t show it to them, through words and actions, how would they know? How would they feel it?

And there really isn’t anything more important than showing ourselves that same love.

Your ego might be saying “no” - i have to take care of my kids, my parents, my friends, my work…

WHAT IF - our primary job was to take care of ourselves, nourish ourselves, so that we are more content, more fulfilled, and more capable of serving all those people we love? What if that is the most important thing we can do, so that we can have a greater impact?

We need to take care of our bodies for our health.

We need to take care of our minds for our overall well-being.

We need to take care of our emotions for our inner peace.

We need to take care of our spirituality or intuition or our true essence - whatever is your word for that part of our souls and existence - for our fulfillment and ability to give back and to receive.

That’s how we get closer to finding bliss, peace, connection.

That is true self-love. That is true self-care. I like to think of self-care as soul care.

So making it simple, take time today and each day this week, and ask yourself, “What do I need today? What would fill my cup?” And carve out time for that.

I honor and nourish myself with intentional deep care and love.
