Season 2: Episode 17- Ask Your Chakras: What Each Energy Center Reveals About Your Year Ahead

Hello my friends, how are you? I hope your new year is off to a great start and if you are listening to this on the day this podcast episode drops then tomorrow is the chakra visioning experience for the year ahead. We're gonna talk about expanding your joy span. It is at one o'clock on Wednesday, January 14th and it's 90 minutes, we are gonna run through the seven chakras. It's a journaling experience. It is yoga nidra and sound healing and it's creating this vision for your year ahead rooted in joy and alignment. And I am so fired up about this. I am so excited about it. I recently did an in-person yoga nidra that a yoga nidra is a long guided meditation. If you have not done one before, we will do a shorter version in this virtual chakra visioning experience. But I did an hour one and it was so powerful and it makes me think that actually needs to be an episode that I do soon because I feel so strongly about the power of these sorts of practices to bring you back to center to help you connect to your inner wisdom. And really, it's this true essence of who you are. That's what alignment means. And in that you find joy, you find bliss, you find happiness. So I'm so excited. Even if you were in person at my local yoga nidra event.

This is going to be different. Even if you have been on retreats with me before and you've attended my Ask Your Chakras workshop, this is going to be different. It is going to include versions of both of those, but I invite you to join us. I'm super excited about it. And what I wanted today's episode to be is something that you can use right now whether you are joining the experience tomorrow or not. So this episode is for all of you designed to spark clarity, to bring to the surface what's true for you, and to help you understand what each of your energy centers is trying to tell you in this moment. Because the way that the chakra system works, is yes, I know it's an abstract concept and some people see it as a mystical idea, but our energy is real. Like that is science, right? So what this system does is it gives you these different energetic centers within your body and it's like different voices. It's almost like another version of that kids movie that's like the internal family system where it's all different people within you that have something different to say. That's what we're doing because these energetic centers in your body are constantly communicating with you. They're full of wisdom and information about what you need, what's out of balance where your energy is flowing freely and where it might be stagnant. And so using this system, each chakra can be asked a specific question, a question that when you listen, it reveals exactly what needs attention in your life right now. So that's what we're gonna do.

In today's episode. So I want to share just one powerful question for each of the seven chakras. And we're going to move through it quickly. And I want you to notice which questions land, which questions create resistance, and which ones immediately spark a knowing in your body.

And that's your energy speaking. That's your wisdom showing you where to focus. So this doesn't have to be a meditation type listening of this podcast. You can be out on a walk or driving around. but yeah, this is actually more about tapping into your body. And again, we're going to do a version of this in the workshop tomorrow. it's going to be so powerful. It's going to be a little bit deeper than what we're going to do right now. And let's be honest, we all need a different way to plan the year ahead. The old way isn't working, right? The hustle, the willpower, the goals that don't stick. So I wanted to create something that actually honors how energy works and how to tap into our joy so that we can make a blueprint for our year around that. those intentions that are actually rooted in your energy, in your body, in your heart, in your soul is what will come forward. So if you're going to join the workshop, can sign up through, there's a link in the show notes. You can go to my website and sign up there and just DM me if you can't find it on Instagram. And of course, before we dive into the questions, I also want to remind you that I have my retreat in Tulum in April. I am so excited about it. This is not the party side of Tulum. This is a secluded luxury boutique hotel. We're right on the ocean. The yoga room is open air to the ocean. It's incredible food. We're gonna go on some excursions and it's just going to include so much connection with the other women that are on the trip and immersive experiences that I will hold, sound healing, yoga nidra, meditation, breath work on the beach, and we will have yoga every day. So I also invite you to join us for that. We are taking deposits right now. There are only 10 spots available and it's gonna be incredible. Okay.

So let's dive in to the chakra questions to give you a little bit of guidance and a taste of what we'll be doing in the workshop. So of course we start with the root chakra. This is at the base of your spine. This is Mooladhara chakra. And we went deep into this in the last episode, right? This is about the earth and foundation and stability.

So a question that your root chakra might be asking you right now is what do I need to feel truly safe and supported in my life? And that is not what you think you should need. It's not what would look good to others. What does your body, your nervous system, your deepest self actually need to feel fundamentally okay?

Is it more solid relationships and connection to community, permission to rest, boundaries that protect your energy, more time in nature, more financial security? So your root chakra knows, and it's been trying to tell you. So pause and ask that question. What would actually make you feel safe and supported?

And if that question surfaced something, if you felt a pull, a recognition, a yes, then that's it. Your root chakra is asking for your attention this year. And so if that does really resonate and you didn't listen to last week's episode, that's actually a longer episode where I went into really in depth about the root chakra. That foundation is so important. So go back and listen to that.

The next chakra is your sacral chakra, the svaristhana. It is your second energy center and it's below your navel. So think of the color orange and it's water. And so it's a flow and creativity and passions in your life. And so your question with your sacral chakra is what brings me genuine joy and pleasure. And am I allowing myself to experience it? This is the big thing about expanding your capacity for joy is that because we protect ourselves from the downside of things in this world, we create limits within our nervous system. And a really fascinating thing that happens is that it caps us on that other side too.

So the ability to allow ourselves to experience pure joy, simple pleasures, what makes you feel alive in your body is something that we have to be proactive about and set intentions around. So maybe it's creating art or dancing or being in nature, eating delicious food, laughing with friends.

Maybe it's something you've been denying yourself because it feels frivolous or indulgent. So again, your sacral chakra question is when was the last time you let yourself experience pure pleasure without guilt? When did you create something just because it felt good, not because it was productive?

And then even beyond pleasure, what wants to be created through you, what's asking to flow, what creative energy is being suppressed in its time for that life force energy and that capacity of joy to be freed.

The next energy center is our solar plexus. This is our third energy center, Manipura. It's at your core, kind of where your ribs meet. And this is our inner fire, our personal power. So it's associated with the color yellow. The question for your solar plexus is where am I giving my power away? And where am I ready to own it? This is about agency.

Confidence this ability to take a line to action with who you are. So where in your life are you shrinking? And dimming your light. This is one of my passion projects I think because it's one of my life lessons, right? So again, my book is called designed to shine Living intentionally to discover your inner light. This is something I have worked through is to allow myself to shine my own light and not waiting for permission from others for anything to be fully yourself. So where are you being called to step into your power and to make that bold choice? Your solar plexus knows where you're playing small and where, more importantly, you're ready to rise. It knows what you're capable of, that you have not yet let yourself claim. And so where in your life are you ready to stop dimming and start shining? Where are you ready to say, is who I am without apology?

And so if this question really resonates, it could be that your solar plexus is calling you into your power this year. Moving on to our heart chakra, our anahata. This is our fourth energy center, right at the center of your chest, right just to the right of your physical heart. This is often associated with green. A lot of people think pink, which pink is fabulous for this as well, but in the chakra system, it's represented as green. And so this is of course about love and connection. So a question for your heart chakra is what does my heart truly long for and am I listening to it? So not from your head, not from logic, not what makes sense or what you think you should want, but your heart, the deepest, truest part of you has answers of what relationships are you craving, what kind of love, maybe self-love, romantic love, friendship and community, what kind of love is your heart asking for?

And there's both the giving and the receiving aspect to the heart chakra. And a lot of us are very good at giving, but we create some stagnant energy when it comes to receiving. So your heart chakra holds your deepest truth. It knows what matters to you. It knows what you're here to love and to be loved by. So what does your heart chakra actually want for your life? Beneath all the goals and plans and shoulds, what is the longing of your heart? And whatever comes to the front of your heart. Let's edit that out.

And so whatever comes up for you as an answer there could be something for you to listen to and focus on this year. And then moving into our upper chakras, we can then move into the throat, our Vishuddha chakra, our fifth energy center. And of course that is right at our throat. It's often like a turquoise blue and it is about expression and truth And the question your throat chakra can be asked is what truth am I not speaking and What's the cost of my silence? So where are you holding back? Where are you editing yourself and softening your message? maybe avoiding difficult conversations and pretending everything's fine when it's not or

It doesn't even have to be that heavy, but it could be just something that you have something that you want to share with the world. You have something that you want to express and you've been too afraid to voice it. Again, this is one of the things that I work through and that's what I'm doing through this podcast and through the creation of meditations and putting my voice out there because I share the story in the book as a young child.

There was a period of time that I only whispered to my older sister. I didn't talk to my parents. I didn't talk to anyone. And that is such a powerful example of not just that I was shy, but that I really, really, as a little girl, protected myself by not using my voice.

So what story needs to be told? What message wants to move through you? Your throat chakra is the bridge between your inner truth and your outer expression. And so you know what it feels like when it's blocked, right? You feel the lump in your throat or that sense of swallowing your words and the frustration of not truly being seen or heard. And so what truth are you sitting on? And what becomes possible when you finally speak it. And again, let that be something that you might want to place your attention on for the year ahead. It doesn't have to be all of these. It's just whatever feels the strongest for you. So then your third eye chakra, your mind's eye, which is your inner wisdom center, your Anya chakra. This is the sixth energy center. It's really like between your eyebrows and back in the center of your forehead. And this is your inner wisdom. It's your intuition. It's your vision. And so question for your third eye would be, what does my intuition already know that my mind is pushing back against? And we've all been there, right? We have a knowing, a sense about a person, a situation or direction, and your logical mind overrides it.

You rationalize, you explain it away, you ignore the whisper in favor of what makes sense, but your intuition doesn't lie. Your third eye sees what your thinking mind can't or won't acknowledge. And so what do you already know to be true for you? What clarity is trying to come through? If you stopped blocking it with overthinking or with fear. And what is the vision that really wants to come through for your life? These could be little changes in your life. They could be big changes. But who are you being shown about who you're becoming, what you're creating, where you're headed? So your third eye holds your inner sight and your ability to see beyond the surface of what's possible.

And again, if this question creates that like jolt of recognition and you know what you've been ignoring or you feel the pull to go deeper on that, your third eye is asking you to finally trust what you see.

And finally, your crown chakra, your seventh energy center at the crown of your head. This is often associated with the colors of violet or white and just pure consciousness, the connection to the divine. So a question for your crown chakra could be, what is my soul's highest path and deepest purpose? And am I living in alignment with it? So this is the biggest question. This is one of my favorite questions. If you don't know that I do one-on-one soul purpose sessions, I do. I love exploring this with people. It is also one of the explorations of my life, of myself.

It's the one that encompasses everything else because it's not just what do you do for work or what are your roles or responsibility? It is your soul's purpose. Why are you here? What are you here to contribute and to experience and to become? And so it's a big one, right? And so this question of are you living alignment with it is hard because of course there's the aspect of that first we have to hit basic survival needs. We do have external expectations. There is a daily grind to how we experience our lives. But when we can talk to our soul, can we be in touch with why we're actually here and incorporate that into our everyday life? And that can be as simple as incorporating more prayer connection to God, to Spirit, to Source, to the Divine. However you understand it, your crown chakra is your connection to something greater than yourself. And it's asking you to remember that you're not just here to get through the day. You're here for something more. And what is that something more? And what would need to shift for you to actually live it? Maybe it is just coming back to or adding in a daily prayer practice, a daily meditation practice, a daily journaling with your soul.

And so if that resonates with you, that might be one of the focuses of your year. Your crown chakra might be calling you home to your purpose.

So, what to do with all that just surfaced in that? Well, so first of all, of course, take a breath, take a nice deep inhale and exhale. We just moved through all seven chakras very quickly and I'm willing to bet that at least one, probably several of those questions landed and creates recognition and surfaces something within you. And that is your energy speaking. That's your body's wisdom telling you exactly where to focus in 2026. And now here is what most people do, right? They acknowledge the insight and they're like, yeah, I'm going to do something with that. But then they immediately move on and they go back to the regular lives without actually doing anything with what just got revealed to you internally. So my invitation to you is don't do that. What you just experienced is valuable data. Your energy through your chakras just told you exactly what needs attention. And so then your question is, are you going to listen? So here's what I would recommend to make this practical right now. Is journal about the questions that hit the deepest. So don't just think about them, because then that's just our logical mind taking over. So write them out. Journaling and inquiry is so powerful. Let your hand move across the page without censoring. Even if you need to write a couple of sentences of, I don't know what to write, and I don't know why I'm doing this. And then you get to say, but if I did know, here's what I would write about. And just let some of those messages get out of you and out on paper so that you can see what your subconscious has to say. And then from there, just choose one chakra to work with this week, maybe even this month. So you don't need to do all seven at once. You don't need to do four of the questions that hit you more deeply. So just pick one and the one that feels like it needs the most attention right now. And then think through what's one practice or one action or one small shift that you could make. And of course, also notice the resistance. So if you dismissed certain questions or thought, that's not important, that's often where the deepest work is. When you say, I don't want to deal with that, that might be what needs the most attention and wants to be dealt with.

But at the same time, I want to set you up for success. So respond to and choose the one chakra that you know you'll follow through and just implement something simple to support yourself in that question.

And again, if this process sparked something significant, this was really fast and I just wanted to give you the tools and the idea of what it looks like and feels like. But if you want to go deeper and you want guidance and you're feeling called to actually work through all seven chakras systemically with support and structure, that is what we're doing in the experience tomorrow.

So again, it is Wednesday, January 14th at 1 p.m. Central time. And so this was just a taste of it, but we're gonna go deep. We're going to do some comprehensive journaling, including some of the questions we just covered, but more. We're gonna focus on expanding your joy, your capacity for genuine joy throughout the year. You will also get to experience the 30-minute yoga nidra practice that helps you access this wisdom from your subconscious and it clears these energetic blocks. You really do leave a yoga nidra experience feeling different and I'll include some sound healing. Sorry, Kara, we're gonna edit that as well. And I'll include some sound healing and that of course is designed to recalibrate your nervous system. So you'll leave with a JoySpan blueprint for 2026 and it's one that honors all these seven dimensions that we touched on today. So it's actually aligned with your energy instead of just your ego's idea of what you should accomplish. So this is how transformation actually happens.

This work creates sustainable change because it's rooted in your body's wisdom, not just your mind's goals. And it's a different way, again, to plan for the year because we all need something different. So registration, in the show notes, on my website, DM me. I would love to see you there. I would love to share this with you and would love for you to join us in Tulum in April. Those details are also on my website, so reach out if you want to learn more. We'd love to have you join us. So here's my invitation to you is don't let these insights fade. Your chakras just told you the truth. And the question is whether or not you are ready to act on it.

If you are, I hope to see you tomorrow in the workshop. If you're listening to this after the workshop and it just doesn't work for you, then I also just invite you to do this same work on your own. And know that when you're ready, I am always open to one-on-one sessions. again, for those sole purpose sessions, for exploring your chakras together, this is what I do in one-on-one sessions. So reach out if that speaks to you as well. And all of that, my message to you always is to listen to your own wisdom because you know what needs to shift. You know what wants to shift. And your energy has been speaking this whole time. And this is an opportunity to listen and to integrate and actually put it into your life. Thank you so much for being here, for showing up for yourself. I wish you so much.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for showing up for yourself and may you trust the wisdom of your body and your chakras, your heart and your soul. And until tomorrow or until next time, remember as always, true abundance is success of the soul and your joy.
