Confidence... Sanctuary Sunday

Confidence is something that has been front of mind for me in a lot of areas of my life: getting to the finish line on my first solo book (coming so soon!), parenting two young adults who leave for college next month, holding group sound baths, teaching and coaching lovely clients. There is always the question in the background: “Was that good enough? Was I good enough?”

The Oxford definition of confidence is “the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust.”

Self-trust and confidence go hand-in-hand. And when we do the work to make sure we are intentionally spending our time living in alignment with our values, we build self-trust. And that builds self-confidence, to do the scary things, to get out of your comfort zone, to shine your light.

So when I start to doubt myself, I remember my why. I remember the experience I have and the results that have been great. And I use my tools of meditation and breathwork to bring me back to center, giving me the safety and confidence to be grounded as I take the leap.

So I invite you to trust yourself a little more deeply this week. Hold onto the confidence that lives within you. And take the leap.

Journal prompts:

  • When have I felt the most confident?

  • How can I cultivate more of that in my life?

  • Where do I hold myself back, and what is the fear behind that?

  • How can I support myself to build my self-trust and get out of my comfort zone?
