New Seasons... Sanctuary Sunday

Happy June! Happy Summer! Happy New Season!

We just got back from a family trip to kick off summer which was so nourishing for my soul! And I had a lot of reflection time. When the seasons change, I love to take that opportunity to look at how I can adjust my life to flow with the season. And since I LOVE summer, I thought some of my reflections might help you enjoy this season a little more, too!

My reflections for this new season of summer:

  • Get Outside and Explore: Summer is the perfect time to connect with nature and explore the great outdoors. Plan picnics in the park, go hiking or biking on those scenic trails you keep meaning to go to, or simply take nice long walks along the beach. Engaging with nature will rejuvenate your spirit and allow you to appreciate the pure beauty of life and the season.

  • Nurture Your Relationships: Summer brings people together, so make an effort to spend quality time with your loved ones. Organize barbecues, host backyard gatherings, or plan day trips to those nearby treasures. Cherish the moments of laughter, connection, and shared experiences that summer brings.

  • Embrace Spontaneity: While having plans is great because we do want to create this life we love, don't forget to leave room for spontaneous adventures and serendipitous moments. Allow yourself to be open to new opportunities, unexpected outings, and impromptu gatherings. These unplanned experiences often become your most cherished memories.

With an open heart and positive mindset, look for ways to embrace the season! A fun practice is to make a summer bucket list, maybe one for you and one for your family. Break it down into stand-alone experiences and repeatable experiences. For example, a stand-alone experience might be that weekend family trip, while a repeatable experience may be to host some friends once per month this summer. For those of us with college age kids, this is especially impactful to create these memories before they take off!

Wishing you a week filled with laughter, sunshine, connection, and moments of pure joy!

With love, Kristin
